The Kabale area stretches from L. Bunyoni Bubale in the South, Makanga to the west, Kitumba to the East and Kyanamira to the North covering a total area of 192.5 Km. With 6429 customers, we serve 70% of the populations’ water needs and 10 % of its sewerage needs with 647 connections. Our area offices are located at Plot 32 Nyerere Road, P.O. Box: 627. Water sources and infrastructure

The raw water is abstracted from Lake Bunyonyi and treated at Kiyoora water treatment works by filtration and disinfection Process. The water production capacity is 2600m³/day and the water capacity utilization is 90%.
At the water treatment plant, the raw water goes through Filtration and disinfection before gravitating to the reservoirs for distribution.
Muhanga Branch abstracts raw water from three sources, Nyakagera, Ruhonwa and Bwatamakara and treated by disinfection and PH correction at the Reservoirs. The water production capacity is 120 m³/day and the water capacity utilization is 93 %.

Sewer Services

The area has a sewage treatment infrastructure at Kigongi. It has a capacity to treat about 1300m3 of waste water daily. The total number of sewer connections is 644.
