The Mpondwe area stretches from Rusese Trading to DR Congo Border covering a total area of 66 Km. With 2631customers, we serve 90% of the populations’ water needs. Our area offices are located at Plot , P.O. Box: kaserengethe. Mob: +256752919472

Water sources and infrastructure

The raw water is abstracted from –Kihondo 1 and treated at kihondo 11 by Treatment Process. The water production capacity is 36000 m³/day and the water capacity utilization is 100%.
At the water treatment plant, the raw water goes through clarifiers before pumping it to the reservoirs for distribution.

Water supply status

The average hours of supply per day are 20 hours/day. To cater for interruption in supply, the Area has 4reservoirs, these are Bwera Hospital,Bwera Teachers college,Nyabugando,Kibwe . The source of energy for water production is Gravity water flow
This water is supplied to our customer base which comprises 2511active, 120 inactive, 2631 metered----, unmetered----. These are broken down into consumer categories which are Domestic Customers(2390), Commercial Customers (-65), Institutions (92) and Public Stand posts (84). From these customers, the area bills 75,000,000/ and collects 66,000,000/
